Arsenal Gains Edge as Chelsea's Cole Palmer Faces Injury Woes
As Arsenal gears up for a crucial Premier League showdown against Chelsea, both teams face injury concerns that could shape the outcome—especially with key players Cole Palmer and Declan Rice doubtful for the match.
Arsenal may get a crucial advantage before their Premier League matchup against Chelsea this weekend, as the Blues' key player, Cole Palmer, is not fit to play. Palmer has shown outstanding performance for Chelsea lately, and his missing out would be a significant setback for manager Enzo Maresca, who was looking forward to using the England international at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Maresca stated that Palmer could not participate in training and acknowledged that it is unclear whether he will be available for the match against Arsenal. “Cole Palmer wasn’t able to train yesterday; he was unfit,” Maresca remarked. “We are hopeful he will return for the Arsenal game, and we'll evaluate his condition.”
Palmer missed the match when Chelsea played at the Emirates last season, resulting in a substantial 5-0 loss to Arsenal. Although the Blues possess considerable depth in their attacking lineup, they would rather have their star player available for such a crucial game.
Meanwhile, Arsenal faces its own injury issue, as Declan Rice was absent from the squad for their Champions League encounter with Inter Milan. Manager Mikel Arteta confirmed that Rice sustained an injury during their match against Newcastle. 'He managed to complete the game but hasn't been feeling well over the last few days,' Arteta stated. 'We'll evaluate him on Thursday to determine if he's fit for the Chelsea match.'
